Introduction:

• Department of Conservative dentistry was established in October 1991

• The Department deals with the patient having decayed teeth, traumatic teeth, periapical infections, and esthetics.

• The Department also makes the intracoronal restoration, crowns, post&core, & does bleaching.

• Conduction of Interdepartmental student activity = Completed
• Conduction of Patient counseling program = Completed
• Establishment of research protocol = Completed

• Expansion of Post Graduate department from 3 seats to 6 seats – Expected by 2017

• Installation of new microsurgical unit with advanced equipments Current status- completion of ongoing research project by dec.2016

• Approval of new research project by jan-2017

• Conduction of Webinar CDE programs – Expected by 2017

• Conduction of various CDE programs in collaboration with international universities - Expected by 2017

• Approximately 150-160 patients per day are examined & treated for various treatment like silver restoration root-canal treatment, esthetic treatment, bleaching, inlays & onlays post-core &minor surgical procedures

THE MAIN STRENGTH OR THE FUNCTIONING IS BASICALLY:

• Conservative dentistry deals with evaluation of individual/ patients over 14 years of age groups having caries, badly carious teeth, periapical infection
• Fractured anterior teeth due to trauma
• Restoration of anterior teeth with composite resin
• Pin-retained restoration in grossly mutilated teeth
• Root canal treatment due to periapical pathosis
• Treatment of discoloured teeth due to intrinsic staining.
• Post & core build up in fractured teeth
• Feedback from students on teaching is taken.
• Development of teaching material.
• Assignments are assigned to student for progress in result.
• Discussion on various topics on daily basis.
• Conduction of Extra classes , test and discussion for weak students.
• To go through internal assessment marks & papers.
• Competitive forum is established for career development of students in competitive exams for postgraduate studies.
